Detailed description
The UFOBAY UB16 is a circular industrial high bay, known as UFO, designed for general lighting of factories and storage areas. Its power range, from 100 to 240 W, covers most ceiling heights found in industry, with a flux reaching 38,400 lm on the most powerful version, i.e. 160 lm/W.
Applications
- Production workshops and assembly lines, installed regularly on a grid.
- Storage areas and warehouses, where presence detection makes it possible to light only the aisles actually in use.
- Maintenance halls and mechanical workshops, where a CRI above 80 helps distinguish colour markings and wiring.
- Technical rooms subject to dust and water splashes, covered by IP65.
Technical highlights
- Samsung SMD 2835 LED packs: a multi-chip source spread over a large surface, which limits point luminance and softens cast shadows compared with a concentrated source.
- 160 lm/W: for a constant illuminance requirement, the efficacy translates into fewer light points or lower installed power.
- Optional PIR or HF sensors, up to 15 m high: high-frequency detection passes through light obstacles and is better suited to rack aisles; passive infrared detection responds to thermal movement and is more selective.
- Colour temperatures from 3000 K to 6500 K: intermediate tints suit everyday production; cool tints are rather reserved for visual inspection and sorting tasks.
- Die-cast aluminium body: heat extraction determines the stated service life of more than 50,000 hours.
- IP65: total protection against dust and resistance to water jets, which allows damp rooms but not high-pressure washing.
The format remains compact: 305 mm in diameter and 170 mm high at 100 W, 336 mm and 196.5 mm at 240 W, which makes installation under cable trays or between ducts easier. To choose, start from the mounting height and the illuminance to be achieved on the floor, then decide on detection. In a warehouse with intermittent occupancy, it is detection that produces most of the savings, far more than a gain of a few lumens per watt. We can simulate the layout before ordering.
