ACOUSLIGHT · Circular Acoustic Luminaire

The ACOUSLIGHT Circular Series solves two problems with a single fitting: lighting and absorbing noise. Its high-density polyester fibre panel corrects the reverberation of the room while the LED module provides the illuminance. In an open-plan office floor or a meeting room with hard walls, it is a way to treat acoustics without using wall space or a dedicated suspended ceiling.

Technical highlights

• 40 % noise reduction over the 100 to 500 Hz range: this band corresponds to the low frequencies of the voice and to the background noise of an office floor. It is the hardest range to treat with thin panels, and the one that weighs most on fatigue at the end of the day.
• High-density polyester fibre: the absorbent material forms the body of the luminaire itself, with no add-on element to maintain separately.
• Efficacy of 100 to 120 lm/W: the range varies with the chosen configuration. It remains at the level expected of a commercial luminaire, so the acoustic function is not paid for with higher electricity consumption.
• Diameters from 0.33 m to 1.2 m: small diameters can be combined in clusters at varying suspension heights, while large ones cover a meeting table on their own.
• Three mounting options: suspended, surface or recessed: suspended mounting exposes both faces of the panel to the sound field of the room; recessed mounting favours integration into the ceiling.
• 5-year warranty.

This luminaire is justified in spaces where acoustic comfort is an identified issue: open-plan floors, glazed rooms, spaces with hard floors. Sizing is based on two simultaneous criteria, the required absorbent surface and the target illuminance, which do not always lead to the same number of fittings.
