Detailed description
The SMART-DL addresses a very concrete renovation problem: replacing recessed spotlights whose original cut-out is unknown, or whose cut-outs vary from one room to another. Its patented fixing adapts to all openings between 65 and 205 mm, and the luminaire can also be surface-mounted when the ceiling cannot be drilled.
Applications
- Renovation of shops and sales areas equipped with mixed spotlights.
- Circulation areas, corridors and landings in commercial buildings.
- Offices and meeting rooms, in addition to general lighting.
- Hotels and reception premises, where surface mounting avoids reworking a finished ceiling.
- Technical rooms and stockrooms whose cut-out remains unknown until the old fitting is removed.
Technical highlights
- Patented fixing, cut-out from 65 to 205 mm: a single reference covers all the cut-outs encountered on a renovation site. This eliminates preliminary surveys and additional orders during installation.
- Recessed or surface mounting: on a concrete, wooden or solid slab ceiling, the surface version avoids drilling and reworking the finish.
- Thickness of 18 mm: the body is thin enough to fit into a very shallow plenum, a common situation under a load-bearing slab.
- Switchable power 10, 15 or 18 W, for a flux between 1,400 and 1,900 lm. The setting is made on the product, which allows the illuminance to be adjusted zone by zone at commissioning.
- Switchable colour temperature: 3000 K, 4000 K or 6500 K. 3000 K for reception and hotel atmospheres, 4000 K for workplaces and shops, 6500 K for technical uses.
- CRI above 80: colour rendering suited to showcasing products on shelves and to comfort in spaces open to the public.
This downlight is mainly justified when the variety of supports and cut-outs is the main source of complexity on the site. On a new installation where the cut-out is controlled from the design stage, a fixed cut-out downlight remains relevant. When renovating an existing installed base, the dual power and tint switching also limits the number of references to procure and stock for later maintenance.
