REXSTRIP COB 480 LED/M

Continuous Line LED Strip The REXSTRIP COB uses Chip-on-Board technology to create a perfectly uniform line of light with no visible dots. With 480 LEDs per metre and a 180° angle, it is perfect for narrow profiles. This 24V strip offers superior colour rendering (CRI >90) and enhanced antistatic protection. It can be cut every 50 mm and is available in IP65 to IP68 waterproof versions. Efficacy: 115 Lm/W | Flux: up to 1690 Lm/m | CRI: >90 | Width: 8 or 10 mm | Protection: IP20 to IP68 | Service life: 50,000h.

Detailed description

The REXSTRIP COB is based on Chip-on-Board technology: the chips are mounted directly on the circuit and covered with a continuous layer of phosphor. The resulting line of light is uniform, without the dotting typical of strips with discrete LEDs, even without a diffuser.

Applications

  • Narrow recessed profiles in ceilings and partitions.
  • Cove lighting and dropped suspended ceilings, seen at close range.
  • Shop fitting: under shelves, display cases, shelving runs.
  • Lighting of worktops and kitchen furniture.
  • Hospitality and residential, for refined indirect lighting.

Specifications and practical consequences

  • 480 LEDs per metre: the density is such that the source reads as a continuous line. This is the decisive criterion when the strip is directly visible or placed behind a thin diffuser.
  • 180 degree emission angle: the flux is spread over the whole front half-space, without a narrow lobe. In a shallow profile, this avoids light and dark bands projected onto the neighbouring wall.
  • Efficacy of 115 lm/W for a flux of up to 1690 lm/m: efficacy remains good despite the chip density, which limits the heat load to be dissipated in the profile.
  • Width of 8 or 10 mm: two sizes to fit the grooves of profiles on the market without excessive play.
  • Cuttable every 50 mm: a fine cutting pitch, which reduces offcuts on custom lengths and makes adjustment at the end of a run easier.
  • CRI above 90: faithful rendering of materials and displayed products, a prerequisite in food or textile retail.
  • Protection from IP20 to IP68 depending on the version: from dry interiors to immersion, on the same product base.
  • Enhanced antistatic protection: less breakage during assembly, especially when cutting and soldering on site.
  • 24 V, stated service life of 50,000 h.

COB is chosen first for its visual result: if the strip is seen directly, there is no equivalent in discrete LEDs. However, plan an aluminium profile able to remove heat along its entire length; otherwise the service life benefit evaporates. Tell us the total length and the type of profile chosen so that we can validate the sizing of the power supply.

Warm white or neutral white: choosing the colour temperature

Colour temperature is decided when the order is placed, not up in the cherry picker: once the luminaires are installed, going back means taking the ceiling down again. Here is the selection rule by type of space, the limits that apply outdoors and the situations where mixing two shades really causes problems.
