Detailed description
The LED Linear Flex 18 series is aimed at durable outdoor installations. Its 16.5 x 16.5 mm Dow Chemical silicone profile combines panoramic emission on three sides with a dual IP68 and IK08 rating, a fairly rare combination for a flexible product.
Fields of use
- Decorative urban lighting: guardrails, handrails, public square furniture.
- Engineering structures and footbridges exposed to the weather.
- Façades, cornices and parapets highlighted continuously.
- Busy public spaces where the luminaire remains within reach.
- Outdoor scenography and light trails.
Analysis of the specifications
- Emission on three sides, 210 degrees: the line remains solid whatever the pedestrian’s direction of travel. On a guardrail or an edge, this is what avoids the broken-line effect as you walk along the structure.
- IK08: the product withstands the mechanical impacts common in public spaces. This is the criterion that distinguishes an accessible installation from a protected installation at height.
- IP67 / IP68 depending on the version: from protection against temporary immersion to prolonged immersion. To be decided according to whether or not the profile can retain water.
- Dow Chemical silicone: a silicone whose long-term stability limits yellowing, the main visual defect of ageing outdoor lines.
- Vertical bending, known as Top Bend: the bend is made in the plane of emission, suited to routes seen from the front and to corner returns in elevation.
- Up to 700 lm/m: enough to mark a line visible from afar without tipping into a general lighting strip.
- CRI above 90: useful whenever the line lights a cladding, stone or siding whose colour is to be respected.
- 5-year warranty.
This model is justified when durability takes precedence over purchase price: humid environment, direct sun exposure, public nearby. If the installation is indoors and out of reach, a less protected series will be more economical. Specify the supporting profile and the fixing method, and we will check compatibility and the minimum admissible radius on your route.
