Detailed description
The BOVILUM is a linear luminaire intended for dairies, milking parlours and cattle housing. These spaces combine three constraints rarely found together elsewhere: permanent humidity, frequent washing and an aggressive atmosphere, all in a room where the operator must see precisely what they are doing on the animal.
Applications
- Milking parlours and milking pits, with direct aim on the work stations.
- Dairies and milk storage rooms.
- Loose housing and handling aisles.
- Washing rooms and wet areas of livestock buildings.
Technical highlights
- From 100 W to 200 W for 13,000 to 34,000 lm, i.e. an efficacy of 130 to 170 lm/W depending on the version. The choice is made on the mounting height and the illuminance required at the level of the udder and the operator’s hands, not on the floor.
- Two lengths: 1200 mm for the 100 to 150 W versions, 1500 mm for the 200 W version. The length determines the layout, a linear fitting covering a milking pit far more evenly than a series of isolated points.
- IP66: fully dust-tight and resistant to water jets. This is the usable minimum in a room hosed down every day.
- IK10: the highest level of impact resistance, useful where animals and handling equipment move about.
- Anti-corrosion treated aluminium body: unprotected aluminium quickly pits in a humid atmosphere laden with cleaning products.
- 45° adjustable brackets: rather than vertical lighting, the luminaire is tilted towards the work area, which reduces the shadows the operator casts on their own field of vision.
- AC 100 to 305 V supply: this very wide range absorbs the voltage fluctuations common at the end of rural lines, a situation in which a standard driver ages prematurely.
To choose between the power ratings, start from the number of milking stations and the available height, then check that the selected length covers the milking pit without interruption. Uneven illuminance forces the eye to adapt constantly and tires the operator over a complete milking. We work out the positioning of the points and the resulting level on study request.
