Detailed description
The AVITUB-A is an LED tube developed for turkey farms. It stands out for its spectrum with a dominant blue and green component, chosen for its effect on the birds' glucose levels, with the aim of limiting stress in the flock and supporting growth.
Spectrum as a management parameter
In poultry production, the spectral composition of light is not a matter of comfort: it influences the animals' behaviour, their activity and their rest phases. The AVITUB-A is therefore not chosen on the same criteria as an industrial tube, where only flux and colour rendering index count. Here, it is the dominant spectrum and the fineness of dimming that make the difference between two products that look identical.
Technical highlights
- Triac dimming down to 0.2 %: this is the key value of the product. It allows genuinely gradual sunrises, spread over several tens of minutes, instead of the abrupt jump produced by a dimmer that stops at 5 or 10 %.
- 18 W to 36 W, efficacy of 100 to 110 lm/W: the power is chosen according to the width of the building and the spacing between rows.
- IP66: fully dust-tight and resistant to water jets, which allows intensive cleaning of the building between two flocks without removing the luminaires.
- IK08: impact resistance suited to equipment handling and the passage of bedding machinery.
- Diameter 42 mm, lengths from 600 to 1800 mm: several lengths to adjust the installation spacing without leaving a poorly lit area between two tubes.
How to decide
The starting point is not the catalogue but your lighting programme: duration of the artificial day, target intensity per growth stage, duration of transitions. Once these elements are set, the number of tubes and their length follow from the geometry of the building. Also check that your dimmer is Triac compatible. We study the complete configuration, luminaires and control, on request; the other solutions for the sector are grouped in the poultry range.
