Detailed description
The REXTUB Glass T8 is an LED tube intended to replace T8 fluorescent tubes. Its particularity lies in its high thermal conductivity glass envelope, combined with an internal aluminium heat sink: a construction that avoids the deformation observed on plastic tubes in prolonged use.
Renovation contexts
- Offices and classrooms equipped with T8 luminaires.
- Workshops, shops and stockrooms being relamped on an existing installed base.
- Technical rooms and circulation areas with old battens retained.
- Local shops and low-ceiling sales areas.
- Temperate to cold areas, down to -20 degrees C ambient.
Technical highlights
- Efficacy of 160 lm/W: for the same flux, the power drawn is much lower than that of a fluorescent tube, which translates directly into the bill and into the heat load of the room.
- Flux of up to 3,840 lm: enough to maintain the original illuminance levels after removing the fluorescent tube, without multiplying light points.
- 320 degree beam angle: far beyond the hemispherical emission of first-generation LED tubes. Light goes back towards the reflector of the luminaire, which eliminates dark areas on the ceiling and retains the visual appearance of the original batten.
- Flicker-free, Pst LM below 1.0: residual flicker remains below the stated threshold. This is a real comfort point at workstations occupied all day, and an argument to document in commercial buildings.
- Frosted glass: uniform diffusion and no visible chip in direct view.
- Internal aluminium heat sink: heat is removed towards the envelope, which protects the electronics and stabilises the flux over time.
- Compatible with magnetic ballast or direct connection at 220-240 V: both renovation scenarios are covered, with or without removal of the ballast.
- Ambient temperature from -20 to +45 degrees C and stated service life of more than 50,000 h.
Before launching a relamping, identify the type of ballast in place: the most reliable long-term solution remains direct wiring, which eliminates both ballast losses and an ageing component. We can help you quantify the expected energy saving on your installed base.
