Detailed description
The REX-BAES Extreme is an explosion-proof safety signage unit, designed for ATEX-classified sites where an ordinary evacuation unit cannot be installed. Its function is simple and non-negotiable: to remain legible to guide evacuation, including in the event of a power cut, in an environment where a source of ignition would be critical.
Installation contexts
- Petrochemical sites, solvent depots and unloading areas.
- Silos, dryers and grain storage facilities, where combustible dust requires specific equipment.
- Wastewater treatment plants and anaerobic digestion units.
- Outdoor industrial areas exposed to frost as well as heat, over the range of -30 °C to +55 °C.
- Rooms washed with water jets and areas prone to water ingress.
Technical highlights
- IP67: tight against dust and temporary immersion. On an industrial site, this means that jet washing or a layer of water on the floor does not compromise the emergency signage.
- IK09: high level of impact resistance, consistent with installation in vehicle circulation areas or near a dock.
- Bridgelux 3030 LEDs: the choice of component determines the luminance of the pictogram, and therefore the distance at which the sign remains identifiable in smoke or darkness.
- 5 W at AC 100 to 277 V: a wide voltage range, which simplifies standardisation on sites where several distribution systems coexist.
- Range from -30 °C to +55 °C: few emergency units withstand both frost and industrial heat, and this criterion often rules out the other models on the market.
- Service life of more than 50,000 hours L70, that is, retaining at least 70 % of the initial flux.
- Dimensions 350 x 66 x 41 mm: a compact format, compatible with wall or projecting mounting depending on sight lines.
The choice of an emergency unit in a hazardous area is never made on price alone: it follows from the classification of your zones and the safety requirements applicable on your site. Send us this classification and the plan of the evacuation routes so that we can validate the layout and the number of units. The range for these environments is grouped in the ATEX zone category, and you can reach us via the contact page.
